I went to the cafeteria and learned about the different perspectives of people with their own roles. I learned how the camera works and became familiar with B roll. The camera and the steps of an interview are very important from the consumer's perspective. The first interview was with a cafeteria lady named Maria Rivas. During the interview, Rivas told us about her promotion since she started at Christopher Columbus High School. Rivas also spoke about how the routine goes in the cafeteria during lunch. Cody McKeon, an interviewee, is the lunch leader for the freshman class and talks about how the day goes and the procedures that take place on a daily basis. Students say that lunch is a great cool down and a way to relax between classes. The food served at the cafeteria during lunch daily also plays a role in how and why the food plays a role in the students' break. Hot lunch served at the cafeteria is made right there. A student who was interviewed, Michael Gonclaves said that lunch was a great way to relax. Lunch lady Maria Rivas talks about her 10 years there and how she has worked from all positions. She also talks about the importance of communication. Mr. McKeon also talks about how he is presented with new obstacles every day in the cafeteria. Although Mr. McKeon said he is presented with obstacles he did also say that it is very peaceful once everybody has had their food, the lines are cleared up, and the lunch ladies can relax. Every interviewee said something about how relaxing lunch can be and how it is a very important break.

Swamp Secrets: The Hunt for the Skunk-ape
Mia Laurenzo, host of the SoFlo weird show, was interviewed on the Skunk-ape. She described the skunk ape and told its story. The first thing she said was that numerous people had told her that the skunk ape smells like rotten eggs. The skunk-ape is a gorilla-looking animal that has not been proven real and has a very similar story to Big Foot. It has been said to live in the Everglades alongside even more unknown creatures. For the Florida Miccosukee tribe, the Skunk-ape holds major cultural significance for the stories that have been passed on. William J. “Popeye” Osceola, an interviewee, told us about the amount of people that live in such a big area for the tribe. He said that there are 643 people on over 1.1 million acres of land and that would mean that there is plenty of room and nature that other people miss. This leaves plenty of room for conspiracy. The research center, located in the heart of the Everglades has been exploring this mystery for many years. Jeffrey Alexander Campbell, an interviewee, broke down his experience with the so-called “Skunk-ape”. He was just python hunting and he thought that he saw a bear but it was no ordinary bear. The bear got up, looked at Jeffrey and his group, then displayed its glowing red eyes. He believes no one can prove to him that his encounter was fake. Many say this is what urban legends are all about. The skunk ape story lives on.
January Package
The bird population is declining and pollution and injuries have caused this, that is where the
Pelican Harbor, a wildlife hospital for birds, steps in to save birds’ lives. The hospital had many
birds including: owls, pelicans, doves, pigeons and more. Suzanne Vanderbit, volunteer at the
wildlife hospital, said that birds have been here longer than humans and our population is
growing while theirs is dwindling, so anything we can do to help them is very important.
Marianna Niero, director of the hospital, was interviewed and she said that the goal of the
organization was to rescue and to rehabilitate injured birds. The organization intakes any type of
bird that is disabled which includes: injuries, orphaned birds, and more. Her goal is also to have
every injured animal that enters be released someday back into the wild. She also said that any
extra time is worth it if it has a chance to save an animal. Seeing the birds take flight after injury
always makes the time worth it from an emotional perspective. Marianna also said that the
moment she sees the animals being released and taking flight knowing that they will have a
healthy life is like a weight off of her shoulders. Many people might say they are just birds but
Marianna said that it is a life. The organization has done a great job of saving native South
Floridian birds from getting back into the wild. The whole team there shares a goal and that goal
is to save South Floridian birds.
Patriots club package

It starts with a pledge. Every morning at the Miami Dade Military Museum, telling the story of Miami and its service to the country from the last 100 years.
Executive director Anthony D. Atwood says, “This got started over 20 years ago and for many years it was a big challenge because people didn’t believe you could do this well, we proved them wrong. Our mission is to preserve and present the rich military heritage of Florida for the education and inspiration of future Americans.”
It’s not just the founder’s message to tell, it’s also the staff, veterans who bring these service stories to life.
Museum staff man Thomas Gammon states, “I got involved with the Miami Dade Military Museum first of all because I’m retired military I’m retired from the United States Air Force. So military history has always been important to me. Especially to have a field here in the southern part of our County that was called Chapman field. That was a World War 1 pilot training area. Who knew that? I mean there are interesting facts all around our County. We want to tell that story as well. Tell the story of people, and tell the story of the history of our County.”
For those who served, this Museum stands as tribute to never forget. And for those future generations, this museum stands as a place to learn, honor and be inspired.
FSPA Convention
This year the Columbus Explorers stayed at the Renaissance Orlando at Seaworld for the first time ever. This event hosted over 1,500 people and 100 competitions. The event had to be moved here because of the increased number of students in the event. The old venue was simply too small. This New hotel is huge. Many new records will be broken and the hotel also features a huge convention lobby. The old hotel being replaced by this new huge one was an impressive upgrade to say the least.
